Act One Stage School re-opens on Saturday 6th September 2014 at 10am - 2pm.

Drama, Dancing and Singing classes for boys and girls aged from 5 to 16. The ideal place for children to learn the trade and perform a variety of productions

Welcome to Act One Stage School based at Marshalls Park Secondary School in Romford, Essex

Here at Act One Stage School we strive to combine serious education in Drama, Dance and Singing with fun and enjoyment for all pupils.

Act One Stage School was formed in the summer of 2010 by Carly Hillman, a professional actress from Hornchurch, Essex. Having worked in the industry since 1997, most famously playing the role of Nicky Di Marco in Eastenders, Carly also teaches Drama in Stage Schools around Essex.

In early 2010 Carly decided to pass on all of her experience and expertise to local children and open her own stage school - Act One.

The school is currently open on Saturdays from 10am - 2pm and consists of three main areas; Singing, Drama and Dance. Students have the opportunity to take-part in all three classes each week in order to gain knowledge and education in all areas. The teachers at Act One are all qualified professionals - many of them having worked very recently on TV, Stage and Screen. We also have an Administration Assistant responsible for registration, fees and refreshments.

As well as our high standard of staff, we are also honoured to boast some of the best facilities around for an out-of-hours stage school. Marshalls Park Secondary School in Pettits Lane, Romford, is one of the two recognised Performing Arts Specialist Schools within Havering. The Drama rooms, Main Halls and brand new state-of-the-art Dance Studio make it the ideal location for children to learn the trade and perform a variety of productions for friends, family and possibly Agents!

We would also like to mention some added benefits that will be provided by Act One. Firstly we will be arranging for current T.V and Theatre stars to make guest appearances at the school, to share their experiences with the students and work on techniques to help them in the future. Whether they're Actors, Presenters, Singers or Dancers these professional, current-day stars will be there to lend a helping hand and guide students to ultimate success. Keep an eye on the website and our updates for more information.

Finally we will also be trying to arrange one or two field trips per year to West End shows, Creative Theatre Workshops and Television Studios, so that the students can gain experience of backstage co-ordination, camera techniques and the realism of full professional productions.

We are very keen to make Act One grow and be the success story that it has the potential to become.

All of our staff are professionally qualified in the industry and all of them CRB Police checked to work with children.

New students are always welcome, so if you are aged 5 to 16, please feel free to contact us by telephone on 07712 889 427 or by email at info@actonestageschool.co.uk for more information.

Hope to see you all soon!
