Terms & Conditions


INTRODUCTION

These terms & conditions apply to services provided by Act One Stage School, based at Marshalls Park Secondary School, Pettits Lane, Romford, Essex, RM1 4EH. Act One Stage School is owned by Triginta Ltd. a company registered in the United Kingdom. Act One Stage School and Triginta Ltd. are independent from Marshalls Park Secondary School.

Acceptance to the school and termination is at the discretion of Act One Stage School. Both applications and notice of termination are contractually provided and confirmed by a signed letter of acceptance termination by the owner of Act One Stage School and the students parent or guardian.

When you apply to Act One Stage School you are agreeing to all of the following terms and conditions.

CLASSES

Act One Stage School is open every Saturday for four hours a week, 38 weeks per calendar year. A full timetable will be published to the Act One website when it becomes available.

Times of classes are specified on the student's welcome letter and of course the 'Classes' page on the website. Act One Stage School reserves the right to change times, dates and the location of classes for which the notice will be provided at the earliest convenience. If a class is postponed for any reason outside of the control of the Act One Stage School an additional class will be scheduled and again students and parents or guardians will be notified as soon as possible.

Any unauthorised absentees will not be refunded with their weekly fee. Notification of absent students should be made clear to the owner of Act One by a telephone call or signed letter/note by the student's parent or guardian. Additionally the parents or guardians of unauthorised absentees will be notified by a member of the Act One staff by telephone during the registration process each week.

Membership to Act One Stage School automatically terminates on the students seventeenth birthday.

CHILD PROTECTION

All teachers and administration staff attending the school are checked and carry the Criminal Records Bureau certificate (CRB). The school is also covered by public liability insurance. All of documents' are available on request from the owner of Act One Stage School.

FEES

Act One Stage School is open for 4 hours per week and 38 weeks per year.

The fees for Act One Stage School are £20.00 per week, per student. This covers all three sessions, Drama, Singing and Dance. Fees must be paid on the first Saturday of each month, in advance, on a calendar monthly basis for each student.

Any student's first week at Act One is free of charge. If a student joins mid-month, the fees must be paid in advance up to month-end and then normal calendar monthly charges begin. Additionally there is a £25.00 per year membership fee, per student.

Cash or cheques are accepted. Cheques must be made payable to Triginta Ltd.

There is a sibling discount available of 25%. Therefore if you have a full paying student at £20.00 per week, their sibling will be able to enjoy reduced fees of £15.00 per week, totaling £35.00 for both students, rather than the normal full price of £40.00.

All fees are collected by the Act One Stage School administrator at the time of registration.

Fees include: Tuition, Membership Card, Literature, Scripts, Sheet Music, Lyrics, Certificates, Act One Stage School t-shirt (one per year), Act One Stage School bags.

It is the responsibility of the students or the student's parents or guardians to ensure that all fees are paid on time. There may be a penalty charge of 10% for any late or unpaid fees. If a student fails to make the payment on the first Saturday of the month, they will still be allowed to take-part in the sessions on that particular day. However failure to make the fee payment the following week will result in the student being denied access to the sessions.

Act One will provide 28 days notice to all parents and guardians as to any changes to the fee schedules.

Similarly, 28 days notice for the cancellation of any student's membership must be made in writing by the student's parent or guardian and provided to a member of staff at Act One Stage School or you can email info@actonestageschool.co.uk. Act One will respond and confirm the final termination date and any fees outstanding. Should notice of cancelation or termination not be received the fees will remain applicable whether the student is attending classes or not.

The owner of Act One Stage School reserves the right to terminate any student's membership with immediate effect. A full explanation in writing will be provided the student's parent or guardian. All fees will only be liable up to this date and refunds will be provided where necessary.

CONDITIONS

All students participate in the sessions at their own risk. Students, parents or guardians are required to inform the Act One Administrator of any known medical conditions or existing injuries.

Students are responsible for their own belongings. Act One will accept no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Should the venue of Act One Stage School be unavailable due to unforseen circumstances out of our control such as severe weather, venue closure etc. An additional day will be scheduled whenever possible. If this is not possible, a full refund will be paid for that week.

Act One staff reserve the right to exclude any student from lessons on grounds that they will inform the student of at the time and provide to the parents or guardian in writing.

The liability of Act One Stage School and its parent company Triginta Ltd. is restricted to class time only and then only to gross negligence or intent.

Act One reserve the right to amend or cancel these terms and conditions without prior notice. However, the most current terms and conditions will always appear on the website.
